Hi fellow authors!

I’ve almost completed a pop/motivational track that includes vocals and I need you to tell me if it sounds “right”.
I’m nervous because of the vocals since I haven’t sung in a looong time and also I’m afraid some parts don’t sound very good to a native english speaker…

My cousin (which is a translator) pointed out that some parts don’t sound right but the way she corrected them don’t sound musically ok… I don’t agree with her and I think that she sees it too much from an academic point of view…hence I need you.
I don’t know any native english speaker so I have to bother you guys and since you are all very nice I’m confident you’ll help me :P

Here’s the link: https://soundcloud.com/andreano-mario/the-world-is-mine-work-in

Thank You! :D

Hi Mario,

I don’t often check this forum and just noticed your post.

I really like the track. It’s very upbeat and positive. The only comments I can think to add are:

When I heard the word Limousine at the start of the song I had to listen a little bit harder to work out what the word was you were singing. It just sounds a little bit more like ‘Lee-mousine’ to me.

In the second part of the chorus, after “Step by step”, I can’t quite make out the lyric. It sounds like “open up the ground” to me. Mind you, I was only listening on my laptop speakers though.

Just a small grammatical point in the chorus – you sing “at THE speed of sound” the first time this line appears but change it to “at A speed of sound” which doesn’t sound correct.

Other than that I think it’s a great, fun track.

Well done. I hope that feedback helps.

Thanks so much for your feedback!
So: the word “limousine”, Step by step “10 feet off the ground”, and “at THE speed of sound”.

I’ll do my best! :)

No problem. Just to note that “10 feet off the ground” was clear at the 58 second mark of the song but I couldn’t pick it up the next time at 1:54.
