Hi guys, people are asking me to customise the files they buy from my portfolio. Do I do this for free? or shall I charge for any customisation? And if so, how much should I charge, are there any rates that you work on?
Thanks!
Best Regards, Stephan Zammit
Got the same question 2 weeks ago,
I asked $7.50 for basic changes (replace titles, placeholders). He was happy with the deal and the result.
Hey, NeuronFX. Check this thread out: http://videohive.net/forums/thread/insolent-buyers-/53862
Thanks a lot!
According to that thread we should be charging around 100$ - 200$ depending on the time. Have anyone charged this amount and how do the buyers react to this?Damn, I’ve Been Robbed

@Badmuts – I charge $100 for basic customization.
I treat the customization client like any other freelance contract. I ask them for a creative brief, then I produce a quote for them to approve based on what they need. Includes 1 draft, 1 final. 50% upfront, 50% before delivery of final. Usually I charge $45-60 hour and the quote would come in at around $100-300 for very minor customizations. I find it hard to find the balance between what a client is willing to pay and what I consider my time to be worth. At the end of the day just remember to make more than minimum wage! (kidding) I let them know how I operate before asking for any creative requests – it helps them to understand we are pros and they get quality products and service. Hope that helps!
I normally just look at my hourly rate and treat it as I would any other job.
