It depends on each country of course .. in my country, a good programmer earns around $35000 / year, while the average salary is somewhere around $6000 / year![]()
Yeah .. it’s crazy. There is a really big difference between the top salaries and the low ones.. And a lot of people have low-mid..

OMG ! That’s really not much!
Here in Switzerland the poverty line is $2400/month while the average wage is $6240/months!
But life here is very expensive too…

A good programming job here in Australia will get you $80,000-$120,000AUD/year if you have the right qualifications (ie: university degrees) and industry experience (ie: lots of good past employment history). Also depends on where you are living (eg: you get more in Sydney because it costs more to live in Sydney). I think the average wage is around $50,000 to $70,000 a year.

You guys don’t have anything on Romania, seriously
In my country (Pakistan), you can hire a really good developer for $500 and a professional for $1000 a month, degree or not, it’s the same case.

... I wanna move down under… Seriously
Yeap, I can confirm what Ruben said, in Romania the average salary is somewhere around $5000 ($6000k at the best), while the living is quite expensive comparing to other European countries (I’m referring to food).

If you ever will be unemployed give me a call Ruben ,I’ll move you to a new country with lots of sunny beach and hot girls and pay you 10 time more from the average salary there
.
Also what you charge for hourly rate don’t do much grace to you base on your skills, but if you are happy with that i am OK with it
