Studio One! Can you tell me a bit about it? I’ve tried it fast after I got a recommendation for it. Though some people claim the support isn’t so good. Any thoughts? On Cubase myself.

Sounds great! Well done!
Hi Andy @ (Slats) It is in fact in E-major (4 sharps) It sounds like a minor because it’s relative minor is C-minor and it’s parallel is E-minor. I know it’s an unusual key, because despite being a major it sounds like a minor

Sorry Rob, I just heard it as a C # minor and assumed you had made an error, but you can just update your description if you wish?

It’s Okay Andy, I’ll leave it as is.
It sound very much like a minor key anyway, and I don’t think potential customers would much know the difference between the two.

Welcome Rob, I’m using Izotope beta v1.02 Yes, that’s right, if sales increase, I may actually upgrade to a non beta version
Welcome to the Jungle Rob! It’s nice to hear from the guy that holds the beats down for once, and from someone with a little studio engineering exp as well.
I haven’t looked into any master software programs yet. It’s kind of funny, because I’ve been recording for years without using any effects on my master tracks, and few to no effects on my main tracks either. It just usually sounds better to me without a lot of processing and I believe in getting the best sound you can on the main take to start with.
However, I have just recently learned a lot about things like “ducking”, “cutting” and “boosting” for separation and clarity, and utilizing various delays, reverbs, and choruses to further define and seperate parts of songs and I can’t wait to post some of my new songs using these technicques.
I actually just use the software plugins that came with Ableton and Komplete 8 Ultimate. So far I haven’t found a need for any others, but I do want to check out what other producers are using.
Thanks for starting what may become an informative thread and good luck here on the Jungle!
