I just wanted to drop by and say Hi. I joined up last week and I am just waiting for some tracks to be approved. My name’s Rob and I’m from the UK. I worked as a professional drummer for many years and then worked in a large live studio as an engineer. Which leads me to my next question. I’m a big fan of T-racks 3 especially the vintage tube compressor, which I use to master my stuff, I’m interested to hear what plugins/rack mounts you guys use to master?

Hi Rob, welcome to the Jungle
Hello and welcome !
Hello, Rob. Welcome
Hi! Welcome
and we want to hear your music:)
Hi Rob,
Welcome. Great to have a drummer on board. I used to use T Racks and loved it for its warmth, but I have recently been mastering with ozone 5 and I love the rich commercial sound of it. I like the vintage tone of T Racks but I feel I have more control overall with Ozone. I got turned on to it when we took our CD into for mastering and the mastering engineer did alot of work with it. I usually end using a tube setting for default and the mastering compressor and imaging screens with spectral read outs are great.
Hi Rob and welcome to the Jungle !
I use a variety of stuff really but the main plugs i use are UAD , i’m very happy with them…...they are a bit expensive but good
Hi Rob,
welcome aboard
Like simaudio, I use (and love) UAD plugins for mixing and mastering exclusively!
Hey simaudio, I think we two are the only UAD freaks here in the depths of the jungle

I use Izotope ozone 5 too. But only to add some bells and whistles (if you know what I mean). I rarely use it to completely master a track I think, and this is just my opinion, it can be quite clinical, which is great for dance music but not so great for stuff I want express emotion. I would really like some UAD plugins, but alas it’s the $$$
