Help Kill IE6 While Raising Money For Charity!

I guess MS finally decided to push for IE6 to kinda start going away. They set up a site Browser For The Better in which they donate $1.15 for every upgrade to IE8 . And if you’re upgrading from IE6 they double the donation. While most of you here are already good to go, may be a good thing to pass along to your clients, and just try to get the word out.

Sometimes when you upgrade to IE8 on Vista, it might mess up your internet. It will show something like “Acces: Only Local” when you hover over the connection and there is no way to fix it except for a recovery to format.

Just a heads up, it happens SOMETIMES . But please do upgrade.

I’m on a mac(book pro).

There is no reason to use Internet Explorer at all, except for testing purposes.. merely to see how bad they screw up at rendering your layout.

Get Firefox!

I, however, do support this initiative, as Microsoft seems to finally clean up some of the mess it’s making..

Wow !!! $1.15 !!! THAT ’S THE BEST REASON TO UPGRADE !!!

How lame… I hate IE and with every upgrade gets worst… really.
Somehow every upgrade brings tons of totally useless new options, useless tools and the workflow is changed on every version…
For now I’m using Google Chrome, I’m not satisfied with it but seems a better option than IE or Firefox (just a personal preference over Firefox).

I agree, and use FF only. But I think this is a great move to get the poeple that are stuck on IE to at least let go of the horrible mess that is IE6 . And so what if you use FireFox…if you don’t have IE8 yet, use that site to at least upgrade, even if you never use it, you add to the donation pool.

IMO : IE7 is better than IE8 , which is a total mess and doesn’t look as good, they downgraded anyway, FF FTW !!!!!!!!
