Hi
As title says, I need a good free IR reverb. There are several free VST that can do the job, but each have it’s limitations:
SIR 1 – it’s good, it’s free and have many options, thanks Nathan Allen Pinard for suggesting it, BUT it have a fixed latency of 8960 samples. When using it on live performed instruments it makes difficult to play. Also my DAW don’t have automatic latency compensation (I use Voxengo Sound Delay for this but really, to add another plugin on each channel just to use a reverb ? really?).
Freeverb3 (big pack containing several effects, a free impulser is available there) – no latency, easy to use, load wav files at any samplerate, BUT there is something about the sound. Same impulses loaded in other programs (SIR or Kontakt effects) sounds much better. Freeverb impulser have a darker sound and add a weird metallic ringing to the sound.
FREE Halls of Fame-Origami Edition – free, awesome sounding, no latency, easy controls BUT limited to the default included impulses (NOT loading third party impulses).
HybridReverb2 – looking good, working well with it’s own impulses BUT can do only sort of surround, loading stereo files in it gave me bursts of noise.

That’s pretty much all I could find at the moment. I tried several cabinet IR loaders but those had some EQ suitable only for cabinets.
So… any others working on Windows as VST plugins ? Without needing to use NVIDIA video card ?like Reverberate LE

Hey, Mihai I’d like to help, but I guess if you can’t find free VST plugin, that no one else couldn’t do it :)

Actually, he started the same thread @ newgrounds and the reverb he was looking for was indeed Reverberate LE (which has both a nvida cuda version and native that will run off the CPU ) as it is both zero-latency and extremely easy to use and supports a wide variety of bit-depths and samplerates (and is free/donation-ware).

@joshhunsaker
Thanks for saving my day :)
First I was posting on NG, then while copying same stuff here, I was browsing and googling more, so I found the “HybridReverb2” and “Reverberate LE”, but had time to try only the Hybrid, which gave me big bursts of noise.
I gave a second look on “Reverberate LE” after you suggested it and seen that have also a non NVIDIA version.
