funny because I like them too!
especially the steam type. I even bought myself Train Simulator. I have no time to play it, off course.
Back to the topic. Hope people will realize there was never capitalism or socialism or communism or whatever. You can debate ideologies from a philosophical point of view but the reality is more complex and less black and white how people like to believe.

So my first investment choice would be land, because it cannot fail you under any circumstance.
except if some sort of communism wins in your country and they take the land from you.

If anyone can enlighten me about a different subject.. where did the money borrowed to Greece since the bailout went? How much money did they get, and didn’t this amount cover their debt already? I just don’t understand why they keep saying Greece is in trouble, every couple of weeks, and they need even more money borrowed. What happened to the money they received previously? Did those money help or they vanished in a big pocket? If it didn’t help, than why lend them more money? Will the money help now? This goes on and on.. I don’t get it.
they never got any money. Is like this: You have to pay back to me an amount I give to you couple of weeks ago. Let’s say 50euro + 5euro of interest. But you don’t have it. So I give you on paper 55euro to cover that debt but off course you never see those money. Funny thing is that now you need to give me back 110euro plus interest. The idea is that to keep getting “saved” every time you have to give natural resources, cheap work force, land or other things of value to the banks and corporations. (things are more complex I have oversimplified but that is the idea)
Maybe the only solution than can save Greece and Europe and US off course, is what Iceland did.

InlifeThrill saidby “die” i meant keep loosing on usd. When eur was 1.4-1.5 the only things dropping here were my earnings while price of oil/gas/energy kept increasing. So yes, really.
Really? I bet you’ll pray for the opposite if it actually happens.

I know that we should keep this thread far away from political discussions, but is hard not to mix the economic talk with some politics. I don’t feel pure socialist but is strange that when someone criticize the model always compares it with old failing communist system like ones on Eastern Europe. Sorry, but it makes non sense. There are many models that can be applied, far from extremisms, even mixed with some “capitalist” economic concepts that are obviously contributing to world advance.
I’ve a small child, and all i wonder is that she won’t need to fight hard and mercilessly with anybody else just to find the way for a simple quiet living. I mean, is nice to see people really ambitious and smart trying to do their best to be rich and make huge projects, but that shouldn’t be the “target to follow” nor the rule for everyone. I think pure capitalism makes youth think that money is the only path for a happy life. And that is soooo sad.
Both socialism and capitalism are economic models. Wonder when concepts like “humanism” will merge on top global politics.

+1 yeah, at some stage we need to consider for what directly affects/helps/happens to individuals. It is an illusion if we think that at certain conversion rates, the world/national economy is balanced or perfect.

I’ll be honest, I like the concept of an open Europe. I think if it would have been a single country, with each country that currently exists to be a federation or something, like in the USA , things would have been different.
This means, the budget to be split and to be collected for all. The entire Europe to have the same laws, the same interests, etc.
That’s a challenge to achieve – without war, obviously, but I think things would have been different.

^ Now that you live in Spain you would have seen the problems to keep it “united”. More than 20% of the people living here doesn’t feel spanish, and if they could choose, they would prefer to be independent countries. Now multiply this fact with the different countries and cultures around Europe. USA citizens have all the same concept for “country” and they are (as far as i see) proud of it.
