Anyone know how to generate PDF ’s at runtime from clips on the stage… say these clips can be customised with a Flash UI and then you have the option to generate the design to PDF which can be downloaded… what do you need to do this and can it be done in AS2 ?

Hi DS. You have a few free source PHP2PDF libraries. Google it. I used one 2 years ago in one project, but can’t remember the name. I’ll look for it. It worked fine, but i remember we had problems with the server memory. This libraries needs a lot of memory to run. We needed to upgrade the hosting plan for this.

Hope this helps.

As far as i know (i’m not a server guy) yes, you need some server language to run the pdf application on background. Can’t tell about licenses, but there quite a few, so i guess some of them will be completely free or at least have a sharing license to allow to use it here, if this is what you need. Don’t forget about the memory issues, can drive you crazy once on server, even more if many users run it at the same time.

I’m also interested, but for the opposite. I’d like to feed PDFs and get jpgs. I don’t mind if it’s AS2 or AS3 . :D
