Hi,
Is anyone else getting weird results with analytics by Envato? To look at referral data, I’ve noticed that I have to first land on a period like June 2012 that already has data to be able to then choose another period like April 2012 and get results otherwise nothing loads. I’ve ended up just changing the query string and hitting enter to get it to work, but it sounds like a bug to me.
Also, the referral data sometimes points to a videohive project that doesn’t actually use my music which makes me think it’s not reliable. Is anyone else getting random results from analytics / experiencing those things?
Thanks

Yes, same here! I’m also getting hits from VH projects that don’t use my music.
Yup, regarding VH projects. I think, “oooo” excellent! Check the page where it says it followed the link from and then this “oooo” is followed by a great big disappointed “sigh”.... Strange bugs at work… I have noticed this on more than three occasions, don’t bother checking anymore.

Don’t waste to much time with analytics. It “could” maybe help you to see whats going on with referrals, but at the end of the day it’s to time consuming to find a strategy based on it.
Just my point of view and experience.
The most useful thing is checking of your songs are being viewed at all, I think.

I agree. I still use it for checking my page-view counts but completely stopped using it for checking referrals as it’s completely inaccurate.
However, I’m curious to why these different VH projects are being shown on the referral pages.
As far as I remember analytics isn’t Envato’s team job. Maybe that’s why is the slowest and badly done part of this big system. Everything works smooth and fast, but when it comes down to analytics … boooo.
You might find a few VH authors using your songs from there. That’s about all it’s good for.

The issue here is actually quite the contrary. The problem is that VH projects shown in the referral sections aren’t using our music at all.
Yeah I actually found some of those too.
