Doesn’t matter, at least I can keep track of free software.
So, SPL offer a EQ for free, the Free Ranger.
The EQ Ranger plug-ins are based upon the EQ modules for the SPL RackPack series. They combine the amazing sound of passive fliters with extremely efficient operation.
The Free Ranger is based upon the Full Ranger-EQ but is limited to four useful bands:
16?kHz center frequency – Boost: Glitter, brilliance, air.
1,8kHz center frequency – this is THE EQ test frequencies. An EQ that sounds good here is a good EQ. Therefore it makes a lot of sense to compare EQs in that range.
Applications examples: Boost for more bass definition and presence, cut reduces metal for brass.
150 Hz center frequency – Boost: more warmth for everything, main impact of bass instruments, fuller, fatter snares. Cut for vocals: avoids collision with bass.
40 Hz center frequency – Boost: in general fuller sounds, deep bass punch (kick drum). Cut: reduces booming sounds and sub harmonic interferences.

Good article, some plugins can be added, but you might write another article, like “another over 90 VST plugins for free”
One bad thing there, a broken link to Glaceverb. You can put this link to it:

I notice this just got a tuts+ post which is basically the same thing, feedback on it though would be although it’s a good idea in ways it wasn’t much help and i will explain why. Reading it just seemed like a big list of the same developers packs/collections of plugins in a huge line most of which i know already and im guessing others would. So i was thinking wouldn’t it be best to just post a link to the developers site and then a brief overview of the plugins they offer rather than just loads from that same site.
Maybe focus would be better on sites/blogs for finding new plugins/news like popular ones like KVR audio, sonicstate etc as they have all of these and more with databases but maybe thats just my view though. Anyway those are some good ones if not already known
Thanx Texturizer777 for the links.
I have no idea how I missed to post “Glitch”, one of my favorite plugins…
