(Locked) Fraudulent referral earnings

Hello guys,

about 2 weeks ago, I received this email from Envato:

Hello Era89,

We have received notification from our Payment Provider regarding the below fraudulent transaction link to your referral earning. Therefore a total of $96.00 referral earning from the below transaction/s has been deducted from your account.

Deposit of $100.00 (referral cut of $30.00) by [Name removed] (disabled for “Paypal Fraud “) on 2012-02-08 18:51:07 +1100

Deposit of $100.00 (referral cut of $30.00) by [Name removed] (disabled for “Paypal Fraud “) on 2012-03-01 09:51:46 +1100

Deposit of $10.00 (referral cut of $3.00) by [Name removed] (disabled for “Paypal Fraud “) on 2012-03-02 04:47:32 +1100

Deposit of $100.00 (referral cut of $30.00) by [Name removed] (disabled for “Paypal Fraud “) on 2012-03-02 21:43:45 +110

I can see why the money is deducted though, if someone has hacked a paypal account then some poor guy is sat there having his money put in your pocket, I guess it’s crap to see the money go, but good karma for you, right?

Maybe some guy downloaded items for 100$, reported a hacked paypal account and got the items and his money back. What really fascinates me is that you got 3 of those with 100$ deposits, another good reason for referral tracking.

Sucks to hear, it is what it is though…lots of hacked paypal accounts going around these days.

Man was said above that sucks but you must have thought that something was strange with such huge deposits?

How do we prevent a hacked PayPal a/c? I use PayPal and I am concerned.

Effectively, it seemed very strange to me receive for 3 times 30$ of referral earnings in a few days, is not something that happens often. Precisely for this reason I am not angry.
