First Submission Rejected, Need feedback!

Hi Everyone,

After lots of work i submitted my admin theme last night and waking up with a rejected notice, good morning

The reviewer had this to say:

This File Did Not Meet Our Criteria

We would like to thank you for your submission but are, unfortunately, unable to approve it at this time as it does not meet our current quality requirements. Please continue reading as we’ve explained why we’ve declined your submission.

1. Your template does not provide a unique enough design to compete in the marketplace at this time.

2. I know it’s frustrating to be rejected citing uniqueness but recently, we’ve gotten a large number of template with the same overall concept and presentation and we have to draw the line somewhere.

3. Please look into how you’re using white space—both micro and macro. It needs to be intuitive, consistent and frame the content correctly in the manner you seek.

All the markup is passed as valid.

The third point about the white spaces i can still edit, but im worried about the first and second point. Does this mean if even i change elements of the design and add more details it will still be rejected? Since the reviewer is actualy saying they have to draw the line somewhere, in other words they don’t accept any themes with this markup structure?

Please give me suggestions/feedback so i can make changes and hope it will be accepted, since i don’t want to throw away countless of hours.

Thank you, but i realy need some serious feedback from fellow designers so i can make the neccesary changes so the theme will get accepted.

I’m actualy considering about just throwing away the theme and start again from scratch. Since i have the feeling that even i change stuff it will still not be accepted, not because it’s a bad design i think but i’ve researched the admin themes category again and there are maybe to many themes using the same overall structure and that will the main reason of rejection.. i think, agree?

But on the other hand in my eyes there are not to many options for different structures of a admin theme because the most important is that it is functional and easy to use so it serves its purpose as an admin theme.

Just take yourself some time and do some research. Check accepted admin themes.

You need polishing that is for sure, but for an admin theme, I’m really out of ideas on what would be the design and technical requirements.

Uniqueness is indeed the one key to open the gate, that is why research is crucial in finding current items and polishing yours to make it unique for design, features, effects, etc.

You can also check my previous feedback for other users, even if they are for front-end themes, maybe this will help you a bit. I’ve done my best to point out issues in every theme I’ve seen and reviewed so far so you can consider a good learning curve.

Generally I think the theme is good, just need more polish and more unique elements like graphics, layout, spacing, typography, etc.

And for the features, my latest item is now under development for new features, you could hold on and check

There are some existing admin themes which looks exactly like yours! for eg. Simpla Admin, As far as my experience with themeforest, they will consider this as a duplicate. Its really frustrating to get a rejection notice. But you have to makesure that your theme differenciate from existing themes.

I’ve decided to start from scratch again, since i dont see any ways it will be accepted soon because of the overall structure is kinda the same then most admin themes out here.

Basicly it’s kinda difficult to come up with a total new structure and keep the structure simple and user friendly. But there are many admin themes with the same structure and menu effects which are also accepted?

True, I am also in the same situation, I submitted my admin theme last week, that also got rejected, reviewer said there are some existing template which look like mine, But I am unable to find one like I did, any ways Best of Luck 4 ur next submission
