Hey guys. Just wondering how everyone is doing this month. Been a funny one for me. Last 2/3 weeks were my best ever but February seems to be slowing down. Don’t know if its because loads more items being added so files are lost in the pile, or just luck or whatever… Just thought id see how everyone else is getting on. Good I hope! Hope the rest of the month picks up!

There can be unexpected dips in sales. It could be increased competition. It could be your regular buyers are in between projects right now. It could be the search patterns are a little different this week. There are certainly plenty of possibilities out there.
Recently I had two of my slowest weeks in about 4 months, but they were sandwiched between two of my best weeks. Don’t make yourself crazy trying to figure it out. Just know that there is an ebb and flow to everyone’s portfolio. Well…maybe not Tim’s.

On my side sales are “normal” for February so far. Don’t think to much about it

Having only been on here since November I’m always thinking uh oh I bet this week the sales stop, as Ive read a few posts saying people often have a ‘honeymoon’ period then sales fade away! Suppose there is no point in trying to figure it our because you’ll never know! Doesnt stop me hitting refresh on my screen though! haha. I can’t really complain as Iv had a better start than I could have imagined so I’ll just see what happens. I’ve probably just gotten greedy… Yeah Tim doesnt have anything to worry about. He might get worried if he drops below 100 a week!

What I’ve experienced with the whole stock music thing:
1. Lulls happen, even really bad ones where you don’t see any movement for a long period of time. It’s easy to think that the gravy train is over and get discouraged.
2. When #1 happens, invariably you’ll get even more discouraged because other authors are having a stellar week or month, so you can’t blame your lull on a site-wide slowdown.
3. Once you’ve dealt with #1 and #2 (Stiff drink maybe? Bubble bath?), the best thing to do is get back in the studio and make the best product you possibly can.
4. Sooner or later, you’ll get sales again. IMO the measuring stick is simple – if buyers thought in the past that your songs are good enough to pay money for, there will be buyers in the future that feel the same way.
I think that you can track yearly trends, and even general trends of sales per day of the week as we saw with another thread a while back. Lulls and streaks can’t be predicted, though. It’s like the weather – you may be able to predict 10 knot winds on a particular day, but you won’t necessarily know when the 18 knot gust is going to come until it happens.
@sweetwaveaudio – your tracks rock. You have nothing to worry about

I too am having a slower couple of weeks but I’m still brand new as well. It’s encouraging to hear that this is normal and that it’s not about the author contributing crappy songs. I do think into it too much, especially the last couple of weeks. Glad I’m not alone. To feel you’re not alone is what makes these marketplaces to great. I’ve been researching other royalty-free sites and NOTHING compares to what’s going on here. The buyers will be back. I’m certain. Thanks!

Weird, My February has started good, but it’s with my non exclusive portfolio mostly. Daily sales which is a bit more consistent last few days. January for me was really slow. So, nice to see February.
