Some recent developments at Facebook which I thought you may find of interest:
Personally, I think I would find ‘Facebook Search’ a highly useful tool, especially when searching for local businesses and products to purchase. It would be very reassuring to search for a business and see things like “Your friend John Doe likes this / Checked in here”, or positive comments from people and friends.
I think it’ll be interesting to see what happens. Facebook’s social network of people and businesses and specifically those public interactions of people with businesses, brands, products etc could be a far higher indicator of quality than Google’s inbound links and anchor text.
What do you think?
I think they’re wasting moniez. They won’t be able to get anywhere near Google on this one. You can search for local local businesses already via Facebook search.
Btw. what’s next? Facebook phone and Facebook web browser?
I like the idea, but it will be hard for them to compete with google like NikolaSusa said!
I still using google search because it’s more easy to use and familiar
- Sold between 250 000 and 1 000 000 dollars
- Won a Competition

- Most Wanted Bounty Winner
- Bought between 100 and 499 items
- Referred between 200 and 499 users

I also think it could be a useful tool, after all each search will be a unique one for everyone. Also being in beta state means it could suffer lots of changes depending on the feedback given. I’m sure Zuck knows what he’s doing.
