eBunny, instead of using a modern day violin, which is fine but doesn’t always make much sense when making a Celtic track, you could try a “fidula”. The fidula is a predecessor of the nowadays violin. Here’s an example of a ‘Celtic’-ish track wherein I’m using one. In a way it’s actually quite similar to your track:

Medieval Castle Fest.

Also, on my public Facebook-page I have posted a silly video in which I’m messing around with a fidula. It showcases its sound pretty well:
