Hey Everyone,

In case you missed our blog post here: http://blog.themeforest.net/general/display-your-recent-envato-items-with-wordpress-and-the-envato-api/

I recently wrote a plugin that will display a custom number of your Envato items and thumbnails (along with the links) using the Envato API . The plugin has been updated and is now available on the WordPress.org plugin directory. In addition, there is now a new option to include a referral id, in case you participate in the referral program.

Just thought I would share this with anyone who might enjoy it, you can find out more and download it here: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/envato-recent-items/

Also, ThemeForest member, TheMolitor, has an excellent implementation of the plugin on his website, which you can see here: http://themolitor.com/

Hope someone finds this useful :)

-Drew

I prefer to have the popular item from a category, can this be done?

Can you elaborate more on what you mean by that Kailoon? You can easily pull out the popular files, but I think you are looking for something more specific. Let me know and I’ll see what I can do when I get some free time :)

I wanted to display only popular WordPress files from ThemeForest. Is this possible?

I read the API documentation about the “popular”, but it only accept 1 parameter – the marketplace name.

So, I was wondering can this be done?

Hi Kailoon,

Unfortunatley I don’t think with the state of the current API it would be possible to pull only WordPress popular files. After looking through the XML produced, I don’t see a way using the ‘popular’ set to find only WordPress files.

If you or anyone still want a ‘popular files’ plugin, I can throw one together quickly :)

Then I think we should wait for the dev team for the more powerful API :)

Proud to be the official demo for this cool little script ;-)

As you may have noticed, I’m using this script to pull an item from two different marketplaces (Theme Forest and Graphic River). For awhile, both were displaying the most recently SOLD item. However, I think the Theme Forest item is now displaying the most recently UPLOADED item (Graphic River is still displaying recently SOLD ).

What does this mean? Well, it seems you will get varied results depending on the marketplace you’re pulling from.

Thoughts?
