Please, I want to ask whether it is possible for Envato to make provision/site/marketplace for selling graphics and web design DVDs and CDs collection? The reason why I find this question very vital is that files more than 500mb are unacceptable here and most of the time, we authors create super high resolution items that will benefit the buyers but because of ‘upload size limit’ the only option we have is to either rasterize or lessen the size of the artworks.

Please I will be happy if Envato staff and site managers will look into this. This suggestion can also benefit both we the authors, staff and also the buyers. There are buyers that will love to obtain a huge collection of high resolution files in 1 ‘purchase button’ click. Selling DVDs and CDs from authors here on Envato will be very cool and many people will love it.

“Envato is like a country and we are her citizens.” Therefore, consider this as a sincere question and suggestion from a loyal citizen.

Thanks!

I’m not talking about image actions “INDUSTRYKIDZ” and the items I have been creating and distributing for a very long time are high resolution elements, templates, and artworks. Image effects I publish here are merely part of my main works and they are basically for sales rating here on Envato which is a strategy I’m applying and it has being very successful. More of my graphics will be published here in no-time soon.

Authors’ DVDs and CDs marketing are performed by other online graphics and web resources sites. It will be great if Envato will try to consider that or try to adjust the 500mb to 1GB.

Note: this is a decent thread and please leave decent comments. Thanks!

That is what I’m talking about “Angelatabet” and thanks for that comment. A good number of potential buyers are interested on high resolution graphic resources and there is nothing like sound and vibrant details. There is a mega premium bundle (complete CD) which contains over 100 features I will be publishing this week here on graphicriver. The overall size of this bundle is over 900mb and all in high resolution but I had to rasterize them just like other authors do here in order to minimize the entire document size. How I wish that the acceptable file size on Envato is up to 1GB.

Increasing the file size limit would be one thing. Asking Envato to shift from a digital goods marketplace to a physical goods marketplace is another. Think about all the complications of physical order fulfillment (creating physical products, storing and managing stock, handling/packaging, shipping worldwide, dealing with international fees and tariffs), I can’t imagine that would be profitable or worthwhile for Envato. Plus it’d shoot the price way up, and these marketplaces attract customers by offering discount prices.

If you want to request a file size limit, I would suggest contacting support and making your case. :)

I include both the RGB & CMYK versions of my flyers in my final download. I think there is only two of my items where I have had to sack off the RGB versions to make the file fit within the 500mb download limit, then simply include a .txt saying email me for the RGB files.

Furthermore, the only reason those items have broken the 500mb limit is because I’ve decided to make multiple layout variations.

Tbh, 500mb seems more than enough to me.

Out of curiosity, do any of your items come close to the 500mb limit? As far as I knew Actions were small files, right?

Mobile App designs is a much more needed category and Envato is missing thousands of dollars for not having such.

Thanks sevenspark!

A good number of my major works are high resolution and over 700mb large and that is more than the acceptable file size limit here on Envato. When creating certain templates, I love to leave most of the elements highly editable for buyer so that he/she will have full control over the item. Most importantly, I’m glad when buyers are getting exactly what that worth their money. Something they have full control over. The first flyer I uploaded here to test the market is over 600mb (because I left almost all the elements unharmed and editable) after I compressed the document, it became 400mb+. Furthermore, most of my layer styles are high resolution and highly textured so that they can be used for any projects and are over 500mb and so on and so forth.

quickandeasy, what I’m saying is 500mb isn’t quite enough when it comes to high resolution items and 100% unharmed elements. In few days, there is premium bundle (CD) that will be available on my marketplace. The high resolution and unharmed document is over 900mb but that only choice I have is to find a way to minimize the entire document because I don’t want to remove any of the elements/feature of the bundle ( All elements will profit the buyer). Let’s say that 1GB is the file limit on Envato, this bundle/CD of mine will be available for buyers in high resolution ‘SMART OBJECT ’ reserved and many of them will love it.

Anyway, thanks once again sevenspark. I will be looking forward towards your plan to contact support. I’m sure that will make a good number of files 100% profitable to the buyers.

Thanks!
