How is it you’re paying Envato four figures?
70% goes to me and 30% goes to Envato. If you sell $3333 per month, then you’re paying Envato $1000 month. That’s four figures. You’re an Elite too, you’re paying them as much as I am.
Granted: Envato has other responsibilities and that funding is spread across their businesses/activities, which drives traffic to the marketplaces. It would be foolish to ignore that, but it makes you re-consider the economics and ROI — doesn’t it?

I have to agree with GravityDept.
Down again today. Anybody else convinced uptime is important?
I noticed it more and more, would be nice if they could simply tweet it. Is is that hard? I mean rather than starting a whole thing, why not just tweet it a day or two in advance..
Hi folks,
We’ve had an unusually bad week for unexpected downtime. I posted an update here yesterday.
We’re working on it!

Down again…2x today. I think all developers are aware of the “leap second” havok going on this week. I’m not criticizing Envato for experiencing issues. It happens.
What I’m arguing for is disclosure of the “Quality of Service” Envato is delivering. A report of historical uptime is a baseline measure of QoS for all web services.
Yes, it’s embarrassing if your uptime is poor, but it’s worse to hide the fact. Be honest, fully disclose, and take steps to improve. There isn’t another way forward that will salvage respect for Envato — which is (unfortunately) waning as marketplace problems pile up.

A buyer emailed me directly yesterday, and when I told him all support needs to go through ThemeForest for purchase verification, he said it was down. When I checked it was up […]
This is too obvious.

The user was a legitimate buyer, and the marketplaces were legitimately down. Downtime creates tension on both sides of the selling relationship in a way neither can avoid or control.
Down again today. I should rename this thread “Unofficial Envato Uptime Report”.
