I have found a very weird statement…

“C4D FILE SUPPORT : Requires Cinema 4D R12 and newer to import inside Element. “

what does that mean ?

it is in the bottom by the PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS

https://www.videocopilot.net/products/element/

Since it’s referring to “C4D File Support” I imagine it just means Element can’t open native C4D files/scenes made with versions older than R12 .

Wow, after playing around with the plugin for a bit I can say that it is really amazing. He basically brought the features people have been clamoring for from Adobe and then multiplied it by 100.

You can get some production level results because it handles high polygon and hi-rez textures so well and when you mix it with the ease of editing in the AE environment I think it has the chance to really revolutionize visual effects workflows – at least on some level. The amount of doors it opens up are infinite, I can’t wait to see what people are able to create.

I wonder why they didn’t add the possibility to fracture objects… Having in mind they could do such cool things there, I don’t think it would have been too hard for them. Even very basic fracturing would have opened a ton of new possibilities. Now you have to go to 3ds Max or Blender to do this… Anyway, I’m really impressed by the quality of the plug-in, and I am gonna get it soon! :)

AK said that fracturing will not be in version 1 – but that it is quite simple to use pre-fractured content. I guess this is a huge feature to implement and they wanted to come out with the product. I guess it will be in the next version – since a lot of people seem to ask for it and until then I guess there will be plenty of workarounds available.

Yeah, but using 3D software to fracture objects is definitely not an appropriate workaround for VideoHive buyers. Seems like we will have to go back to good old Shatter effect until the next Element version… at least for VideoHive projects :)

I was thinking the same last night. We could expect new 2d/3d software from Andrew Kramer. :)
