Yes! I listen to my own music all the time.

No – it’s not selfish! You should be proud of what you’ve accomplished, and it stands to reason that the music you create will be along the same lines as the music you like to listen to, so it’s natural you’d want to listen to it.

Now I will admit that there’s stuff that I’ve made, especially early on, that I cringe every time I listen to. But I still listen to it :)

i dont think it matters that you dislike your music cuz it seems like every other soul on this planet begs to differ :P

As for me, I love looking back at my music, it serves to inspire/motivate me forward! Plus, I like pretending I’m just superb aha :P

1. Hmm, this doesn’t sound that bad. Let’s finish it.
2. Oh yeah, it’s great. Let’s just fix stuff and make it sound better.
3. Wow, I can’t believe I wrote that. It’s better than my previous track! (play count ~100)

(1 month later): 4. Ugh. Still not that bad but… I don’t wanna listen to that.

(2 months later): 5. I can’t believe I thought that stuff sounded good

(3 months later): 6. (empty recycle bin)

Well yes, but not for a long time after I finished it, because by then I’ve heard it so many times already…

I am listen my own music too :) First – I like most of my own tracks (not all), second – it helps to detect some mistakes in sound and composition (even in some years).
