It happens. When that happens, I shut down the computer, get in the car, and go a nearby forest area here to walk and relax. It’s quite normal. It’s called brain overload
Due to the big fact that freelancers tend to overwork and don’t have a regular schedule, this happens.

||+521757|Monkify said-|| I used to get blocks a lot.. dunno what changed. Maybe the Army changed my mentality? I think the biggest issue now is designing for so long I feel like I lose my sense of what’s even good haha.
This is an important issue than anything for a designer; unconsciously entering into the zone of seeing “whatever output is good”, falling too far from own quality standards. The culprit is fatigue due to forced long time work. A deep sleep is enough to comeback, of course may not be a possibility in office.

I once had a designer block. Then i decided to turn into a coder. No luck at all. Now i have a perpetual designer block and a coder incompetence.
And trust me, you can live with both things. No problem at all, unless you want to be a superstar on one of the fields. If things go worse, you can always sell your organs to the science for some bucks.

@pezflash, very inspiring !
When i get a designer’s block, i start seeing grayscale only :/
Going out or playing a football (soccer) game with friends helps always.

Me too, I head to the nearby state park. Might be the exercise, fresh air or just getting away for a while but it works for me too.
I recommend to do sports regularly. I go 2-3 times a week to the gym and do weight training. This does not only help you to get away from the computer and see something different but as well to build up some muscles allowing you to continue these computer jobs over the next years without a suffering cause of back pain and such.

I normally get the block when rushing projects and then tending to over stress yourself. You know? That feeling when you know you have to finish the work on hand within some hours, get a block which you know you can’t stop rest.
Well look at your work as something nice to do. If you are business people we should all know that time is our cost!
Just take one step back from your computer and think about something else. Clear your mind and start if you feel ready
As a designer or writer, this often happens to me. Browsing, read and see could be a solution.
Thanks to everyone who gave me there ideas for beating the dreaded block, I’m gonna try the lot of them
Once again THANKS VERY MUCH ….............
