Inside scoop available here:
http://pleaseadvise.fm/I’m in the same exact boat. Pay for internet but not tv. But I want my HBO and would gladly pay for it!
P.S. I know it’s old news, but I didn’t see a thread about it so just wanted to share.
lol, this is interesting

The whole thing was awesome because I’ve complained to friends, family (basically anyone who will listen) on several occasions that I’m sick and tired of HBO releasing seasons on dvd a FULL YEAR later!
Haha thanks for posting this! I didn’t start a thread myself because I didn’t want to toot my own horn

It was pretty amazing watching how it spiraled in virality.
I would love it if SHO had a subscription thing online similar to HBOGO – but you know, as a stand-alone. I don’t have Satellite or Cable, only DSL internet and when dexter episodes I feel horrible having to watch them at sketchy sites.
If they could do something like CBS (abc, nbc, fox all do it as well) where they put shows online hours after they come on, but at a price, I’d be willing to pay.
P.S: For the sake of getting TV to be more online, I did it for ”$10” – $20 would be a bit insane just for HBO Go.

You’ve obviously never seen Game of Thrones.
And just to fill everyone else in, takemymoneyhbo.com reached the #1 spot on both hacker news and reddit and had articles written about it (and me) on nearly every major news blog and entertainment blog including techcrunch, The New York Times, The Atlantic, Wired, Entertainment Weekly, Time Magazine, etc. etc..

It’s kind of bizarre when you think about it. Because it seems like subscription-based content should be the future. But maybe all these content providers are in bed too deep with the cable tv companies.
