Hi,

First off I want to say that I DID post this in the items discussion tab, but only got one response which isn’t very helpful. Good concept, not bad typography… I dont know. The background is so empty but its OK because this motion is minimalistic. Trapcode Form looks almost like they new Mir plugin kind of organic material look.

Hello my friend I saw your file and I like it a lot. Personally me I don’t see nothing unprofessional. I am sure that the reviewer can explain to you what is wrong with your file and what you can do to make it more professional. Actually I saw the same technique in a file of steve314 with the name “pathos”

If the reviewer were able to be specific about exactly what is unprofessional about it, it would be quite helpful. It’s not obvious to me at first glance.

My opinion, is boost is up a little. It looks good but a few touches will do it
Add a texture to the background, Ramp, Make it dynamic,
Add some extra tiny particles flying around,
Maybe some flare-flashes (shining from the form)
Make sure any logo will be readable (sometimes white on white is problematic)
I can’t see if the logo is revealed or just white.. if it’s not , make it so the flying form will reveal it.
Also, I would bring the logo closer to the center in the preview.

Finally, I don’t know if you did it already but make some controls for the colors on the form so it’ll be customizable..

I totally disagree. This is a “more is more” approach. The whole point of this animation is that it’s clean and minimal. Where is the rule that states that a background must have a texture or a vignette on it?

If it’s not right, then just add stuff? Particles, lens-flares, ramps? No. Bad idea.

Personally, I would go to support and push the reviewer for an explanation. I think in this case that it’s required. I suspect the reviewer has something quite specific in mind. Report back, once you know. I’m curious.

Edit: Looking at it again, could it be that you’ve time-remapped your Trapcode Form and that at a certain point it’s running at only a few frames a second? That would be grounds for a failure on quality. Render the Trapcode part at a much higher frame rate before you time-remap, or use a quality frame interpolater like Re:vision’s Twixtor.

Another thing you could do is to up the particle count in Form, so it doesn’t look so much like Trapcode Form. I’d have a look at the colour scheme of the Form part too. But maybe that’s a matter of taste.

totally agree with felt_tips! Do not change anything, it’s good and minimal. Don’t add texture, ramp etc. Do not.

Well, I think the details matter…
I never said “explode your composition with particles & flares” I suggested tiny particles, even it they add up to be 20 2-pixeled white particles total…it will enhance the look..
same goes for the flares..even if they show up for 5 frames and 25% opacity – it does the difference.

Again, for the ramp, texture – make everything subtle…ramp from 90% white to 100% white…
Create simple things with details, ...but as I said it’s just my opinion :)

  • and just to be clear, I meant even tiny”er” particles , but actually this example has everything I said : subtle ramp , bit of tiny particles and some almost invisible flares :)
