Hey everyone,

I do loads of work in Photoshop and I bought a Logitech Performance MX mouse a while back. It’s been awesome, but it’s starting to fail me (the left click is behaving at times and the sensor is going haywire every now and then).

So, I’ve decided to change it and was wondering if anyone can recommend a good mouse suitable for lots of Photoshop work (mostly web design stuff, not photo retouching or anything similar).

I’m looking for a really confortable and quiet one.

Thanks :)

Adi

You should get a new Performance MX, I have one too and I’m happy with it. Or if you want more buttons the g700 will do.

I used to have a RAT 9 and it was too heavy and poorly balanced, and the battery life was horrible compared to Performance MX, so stay away from those.

@cosmincotor Thought about getting a new one, but there are some things I don’t like about it: the hardness of the scroll mode button and the click noise (maybe it’s just me, but I think they’re pretty loud).

@doru Can you get the same precision when working with a tablet?

I’m working on Razer Deathadder 2013 with Vespula. Works like a charm and it looks rad :) I just love it.

I use a roccat Kone XTD with 8200dpi over a razer Goliathus A3 mousepad. It works like a charm and looks really cool with the changing color leds.

Hi Adi,

I also own Performance MX, it has a widely known “left click” issue , but changing the USB port helps sometimes.

depends of you. couple of weeks at the beginning is a hell but then you get used to and you can work better.

certain software work better with a tablet and Photoshop gives you a new level of work when you use a pen.

more you use the mouse, closer you are to the point when you will fill pain in your hand. Is the reason why I’ve bought a tablet. First I believed was the mouse fault but I’ve asked around here and people advised me to get a tablet.

Not easy to get rid of this pain when you get it. :( If I go back to the mouse for a couple of hours is back.

check this video

http://gsglabs.com/blog/2009/07/pros_and_cons_wacom_tablet/

it sums up some pro and cons of using tablets

if you didn’t got to the pain in the hand part is better if just mix the mouse and tablet
