I’m searching for Wrexham Script and I found it on some websites, but I’m not sure if they are legal. Can somebody help me?

A readme file says it’s free for personal use, altough I found free for commercial use option on first google search. You could try to contact author, there’s an e-mail at the end of readme file :)

Thank you Demorfoza. I’ve now contacted the author :-) Do you know if this site, that is shown first, is a legal site?

I think it is, people use it in their item descriptions, even one Mod provided it in some thread.

Pretty sure that if the readme file says that it’s only for personal use then the license on the website will be considered void. Although if the designer of the font personally gives permission to use it then no other license is needed.

Edit:
If this font is used for commercial purposes then the user agrees to make a one off payment to the author of £25.00.

Also the site doesn’t say ‘Free for commercial use’. It says ‘Commercial use allowed!’.

You’re right, but Public Domain license allows commercial use. Also it states, that “Regardless of the license, if you use a font and enjoy it please consider making a small donation (anything helps) to the font author.”

But still, it’s better to contact the author directly :)

As I said earlier, what the website says doesn’t matter. We could have considered it as public domain only if there was no license info inside the zip file. Unless the author says otherwise, this font is to be considered as free for personal use only.

Also about that part: “Regardless of the license, if you use a font and enjoy it please consider making a small donation (anything helps) to the font author.” They’re trying to say that even if you use a font which is free for commercial use, you should consider donating to the author because it requires a good effort to create a font. Also because it’s a good practice to donate for an item through which you’ve earned something.

As far as I see it’s an early 90’s font, that license might be invalid or changed now, but it’s still included in package somehow. So, again, it takes only one mail to contact the author :)
