Cadenza theme

Hey guys,

I just purchased the Cadenza theme.

I am terribly disappointed.

Firstly, when I upload the zip file it says, “The uploaded file exceeds the upload_max_filesize directive in php.ini.”

Then, when I uploaded it using ftp, and activate it, it doesn’t display at all and makes the site impossible to use.

I’m lost…

You are responsible for this setting.

Thats because you need to add the content yourself. Data is stored in WordPress installations and not inside themes.

You are disappointed because you probably dont know what you’re doing.

Please don’t upload the entire download file. This is a large file.

Upload the “theme” which is inside the zip file.

Alternatively please contact the item author with your WP login details and ask for assistance installing the theme.

I now understand the first issue but when I activate the theme, with my existing data, this is how my site displays: http://www.cs.marcuswillis.com.au/

I have been looking for a theme for a while and have bought and activated a few without this happening…

Also, I only uploaded the theme folder, subsequently, the theme shows up in the themes available in my Wordpress site…. which I then activated.

Is there something else I am missing?

Does the theme have any color options? If so, select a color first, save and hit refresh.

Unfortunately, that didn’t help. The more I look at it, the more I think that there is something inherently wrong here. When I have this theme installed the settings pop-up menu doesn’t ‘pop-up’ when I’m in my Wordpress dashboard. In fact, none of the wordpress menus of the left column work properly. When I activate another theme everything goes back to normal…

I would just get a new theme but I’ve paid $35 for this…

I also tried to disable some widgets that might be messing with it, no success yet.

It seems that your theme is installed incorrectly.

The style.css, the theme’s primary stylesheet, is returning a 404

That’s why your site is unstyled.

Most likely, you’re uploaded the wrong folder by mistake. Make sure that the parent directory that contains the style.css is in the themes/ folder. That is, you need to have this structure:

wp-content/themes/cadenza/style.css

I suppose it’s possible that you have some sort of strange htaccess issue going on instead, but that’s unlikely.
