Business Card rejected

Hello, firstly, thank you for viewing this thread. Recently, I uploaded a business card, and it got rejected today, with the standard “Unfortunately this file does not meet GraphicRiver’s strict aesthetic guidelines” message.

Here are the flat images of both sides of the card (I used psd-tuts+ for the name mainly because it looked good).

All comments and criticism would be warmly welcomed, hopefully I can fix this and get it uploaded!

I’m not sure how it would look in print, but I think the details on the back of the card are a little too dark, which could make it unreadable.

The background design would definitely lend itself to a matt finish with gloss ‘splashes’ – I saw something like it a while back, it was unusual and classy – but with a straight matt finish, the effect is probably lost.

Straight gloss would be a total disaster, so I’m not going there

Overall – I just think you need to bring up the texture and brighten the writing so it’ll stand out more. If it’s a business card, it has to work in print, yeah?

Yea, I have to admit I didn’t check that it worked on paper (an elementary mistake :P). However, I have now checked on my (somewhat crappy) inkjet printer and I can still make out the concrete texture and the text is still clear, I decreased the print quality (in my printing settings) to the point of not being able to see the concrete, and the text is still visible, so it degrades well. Unfortunately I do not have a printer capable of professional printing so I cannot tell how it would look out of one, but I am reasonable confident, and as such I have come to the (possibly wrong) conclusion that my representation is poor (because I tried to make it in perspective and was consequently not clear).

If it gets rejected again then I will follow your suggestions and improve the typography to make it perfect.
