I would actually have to agree with Segen on this one. I also agree with Epicera that the homepage is for driving sales, but don’t you think adding the latest blog column and latest forum post towards the bottom of the page would work just fine? The reason I support this is because I used this section of the homepage on a daily basis, and think it helps to encourage participation within the forums.
I’d like to hear what some others have to say.

I myself check themeforest several times a day but I am not used to check the forums. Since I registered one year ago I always had the latest forum posts on the frontpage and rarely missed anything new.
Since the removal of the “latest forum posts” section I miss almost everything 
I wouldnt mind if that feature would somehow return, although its not mandatory for me. Guess it will just take some time until I am used to click the forum link as well, when checking the site
