Hi everyone. I’m new here so please bare with me. I was wondering if there were restrictions to how exclusive authors can use their own items in their own personal projects (as in their own blog, website, painting…etc).
As an example, if you submitted a Site template or a business card template, do you get to use that as your own site templates or your own business card?
Hey dmondark, welcome to the community!
To answer your question, if you are the author of an item that is being sold on the Marketplaces under an exclusive agreement, then you are able to use your file in any projects you wish (you own the copyright to the file, and as such, do not require a license). The exclusivity agreement only relates to selling or giving away an item you have elected to sell on the Envato Marketplaces on another website.
Eg; you could use a theme you created and were selling on ThemeForest as your personal blog theme (without purchasing a license), but you couldn’t give away or sell that theme for others to use on your blog.
Therefore, this kind of usage is allowed.
Hope that clarifies it!
Thanks Jordan. Everything is crystal clear now.
