Frankly I don’t think was too personal, also because badges already tell more or less wich type of activity and business you’re having here, so ironically posting a comment here reveals publicly more personal informations about you, than the survey itself.
I think was pretty well done, and the field wich needs more improvement is the Search field IMHO: to have the feature to exclude keywords in a search, to search for users, to search for files through multiple marketplaces etc..

I think the survey got to personal. I started it and then closed it without finishing. I don’t know how knowing how much money I make or what I do for a living helps Envato improve it’s site. That survey could have been a lot shorter. It was also laid out completely wrong. The very satisfied answers should have been the first choice. This made it very hard to fill out the survey. ( not that I finished because of the personal questions. ) ( Don’t care that it is anonymous, it’s the principle that matters )
Yes that is to find any issues with your experience and how it affects your demographic category. It’s just market research.
Don’t mind the personal demographic questions. They are to get a better targeting and better overall strategy. As an author it’s in your own advantage.
Btw I would love to see the results of this study. Thanks

Asking for houseold income is unnecessary attempt. Better ask for team size of business.
And feedbacks supposed to request set of questions relating to just one or two particular context, otherwise majority of users will not go until clicking final submit button due to ocean of questions. The more the number of questions, answers would be very vague.
According to my IQ level, all these 3 answers have no difference:
- Fairly satisfied
- Very satisfied
- Completely satisfied
Will Envato share the results?
It would be very interesting to know the outcome of a couple of the questions. Like how many percent buy item’s for personal use and how many buy them for client’s? That would help both authors and affiliates to target buyers and to market item’s/marketplace’s.

Pretty sure this thread got off topic real quick. Wasn’t supposed to be about the buyer survey & how personal the questions were but to suggest Envato also do an author survey.
contempoinc saidWell, it’s a forum. You had a very good suggestion, but just posting +1 responses isn’t very interesting imo. Wanna steer us in the right direction on what to discuss or is it ok to expand the topic just a little bit?
