I know there were some talks around the end of 2011 from Envato staff about raising song prices in the near future. Just wondering if there was a timeline on this at all or if we can expect an announcement to come on that soon. Just curious, that’s all. Thanks!

This was officially announced so what I think about changing plans also need to formally declare :)) Maybe time shifted?

Nope,
It hasn’t taken place yet. Just look at the new items. Music over 120 seconds is still listed at $14.

Audiojungle could do a trial run for a month with the price increase. If sales drop because of a price increase then they could lower it back to normal after a month or 2, and the price increase would be just a forgotten myth.
And if it just dropped a little, the increase in price would cover the cost of the dip in sales.

And all customers who knows about it, will wait untill this month is over
It will be good to price music files not only according to time factor. Sometimes simple ambient music cost 14$, that’s more than many tracks with live instruments and vocals. IMHO we must appreciate this productions much more than computer generated synthesis
