It occurred to me that a lot, if not most, of us AJ authors would probably be doing some kind of freelance audio work as well as selling their files here. And, if not, then there might be some that would want to start doing that also.
So, inspired by the almost unhealthy amount of time that I spend on the http://freelanceswitch.com/ website, listening to their awesome podcasts and reading their excellent articles, I thought I would start a thread on this very topic.
Freelancing, as an audio producer, creates some situations that are quite unique, in relation to other areas of work ie. web design, writing etc. and can, therefore, make it seem quite difficult to make headway when it comes to generating clients or marketing yourself.
I thought that here, on this thread (or others like it), might be a good place to offer advice on this area of freelancing, helping all of us here to further our careers as musicians, composers, sound designers etc.
So, to start the ball rolling (or attempt to, at least), does anyone here have any projects that their working on at the moment, that they need help with, or would just like to share some experiences about? Or, is anyone struggling to get freelance work and needs some help with this?
There are some really successful freelancers here and even more talented audio authors, so I’m sure there’s a lot of advice and help to be shared.;)
