Thanks for the reply Scott. The reason for the rating by the buyer would be to then allow the programmers to sort the list in the project by what the buyer thought was the most interesting tracks, but I’m not primarily a buyer either at this point, so that may be too much to ask. And besides, the programmers could probably figure out a better way to measure the buyers interest. Just some thoughts.
Note that by showing which files were most interesting to that buyer it gives the sellers an idea of how useful there file was compared to the taste of that particular buyer.
signing off and continuing the brainstorming.
And, is there a different place to post things so that the devs will consider it or is this the place?
No, you’ve come to the right place! We do read everything that gets posted, don’t worry.I think it’s a great concept. It can be simplified somewhat by taking out some unnecessary steps such as having the buyer rate files (surely they’d just need to purchase the file they actually like/want rather than spend time rating files, right?), but the general premise is solid, I like it. I think taking the Item Requests forum section and integrating it more dynamically somehow into our site/library so authors could suggest existing items would be very interesting. Definitely food for thought, thanks for taking the time to share the concept with us.
I like your ideas… +1 I think it could be pretty similar to [link to competing site removed]
I like that R! thanks!
