Hi guys, i intend to sign up for the simple storage service provided by AWS for parts of my backup. Firstly, can you transfer data via FTP , if not, what methods of transfer are avaliable between your PC and S3, and is it secure enough to hold all my work? Also, am i charged for transfer between my PC and AWS , or is it just public transfer.
If you have any experience with AWS i would very much appreciate ANY advice, and if you have a better alternative, i would also appreciate that

yes I use AWS for hosting flash video trailers for my clients sites – you cannot ftp in to the account – I use cyberduck on my Mac (not sure if it’s available on pc) – but if you google for an uploader to S3 there are plenty of freebies.
It’s a little peculiar at first as you have to create these bucket things (they are basically just folders) to store things – but yes it’s ridiculously cheap and I chunk out a large amount of bandwidth for movie trailers across many sites.
Great service and very secure.
In fact Envato use them for images on market places.

Cheers
In reply to your PM: I don’t use it
I plan to start hosting files with amazon on my site though,
