Hey everyone,

I’ve been on the marketplaces for a couple of years now. I would love to get back into my true love… motion graphics, never have the time any more but I’m willing to make it. After all it is what I studied at university.

I would ideally like to use my 3D skills in the videos as well, is this something that sells well?

Thanks, Christine

I’ve got a few models on 3D Ocean that I could use. I use Cinema 4D. So you don’t think it’s worth dipping my toes in VideoHive then?

you could try making a c4d project file .surely will be better selling than 3d ocean.as i can see youre really good in modelling so you could try photorealistic showrooms. they tend to have value in videohive

Themeforrest is a much bigger marketplace compared to VideoHive. In fact, the biggest :) If it’s for the purpose of making money then I’d say stick with themeforest, that’s where the money is. But if you wanna do it as a hobby then by all means :)

Hey Wilde, nice to see you considering the Hive! I say it’s super important to have a diverse portfolio across as many of the marketplaces whenever possible. So if you’re capable of creating motion graphics why not give it a shot?

To put it simply, After Effects projects are currently the equivalent to Wordpress themes on TF. It’s the most popular item type and tends to sell the best. However if you have experience with C4D , I would really suggest trying your hand in the C4D projects as it’s our newest category and is largely untapped. It’s been around for a while but has seen very slow growth. To be honest, I expected it to take off fairly quickly, and it hasn’t yet. BUT I do think the potential is still very much there. Might be a good opportunity to get some files into a category that’s still ground floor.

you can use your 3D skills by combining rendered footage from your 3D application and some type of after effects project.

@Wilde… Mark said it. C4D category here is all potential.

If you upload a file, it will be on the front page of Videohive for several months. Even if it doesn’t sell, that’s great publlicity for the other items in your portfolio.

Maybe 3D model or Themeforest clients will find you through your Videohive C4D file.

And who knows… maybe the file will be a major hit.

Be a pioneer! :)
