Thanks Marco. I’m glad you liked the movie and it didn’t warp your fragile young mind!

Hi Mat – yeah I’ve directed 4 movies so far, working on the 5th. Glad you liked the idea about the front page – this thread got a little off topic so glad to steer it back on course.

It seems like such an easy idea to implement and I don’t see the downside to doing it…? I’m only suggesting the last 24 hours of new files are accessible this way. Any other thoughts? JB.

I don’t really think that exposure on a front page can bring more sales. I think there are more sales after approval because item is on a top of category section.

I would have to respectfully disagree. For NEW authors I believe front page exposure means A LOT! For top authors with a few top tracks and/or many items with many sales to get them higher in the search results – not so much.

But yeah, for new authors I believe it means a great deal to have your icon shown on the front page. When I was featured I sold FOUR times more than the previous week. And now it has backed down again. I don’t believe that’s a coincidence.

Also, each and every time I have a new item on the front page, I sell something – usually my top seller or my featured track. This means someone sees the icon and checks out my profile.

What I suggest to do is to upload twice as much material to double the exposure instead of waiting for Envato to change the site a bit :)

But seriously, I think the grid with new files is great and I do sell and get noticed when my file is on it, so why not implement the grid idea into the search engine, and throw out searched answers in this kind of way. New ones first and down the line…That would allow the buyer to go way deeper into the jungle, following his own judgment and not the predetermined one by seing those numbers and ratings on the right… Some buyers they just leep from stars to stars on the search list leaving out awesome new tracks in between..It would make us equal again :)

sorry to be a bit off topic here.. all the best!!

That’s an odd call from a guy who’s been here since Dec 2011 and has uploaded 9 items… :)

:) It was a joke, obviously.. I would love to have Envato do something about the front page!
