I noticed some themes here with a Flickr widget have a link to each image, i’m using the plugin called Flickrush but it doesn’t have that link functionality, are those flickr widget from themes hard coded or just another plugin like Flickrush?

Well, in most of the cases the widgets you find in themes are self coded… no plugins.
