A beginners suggestion

I’ve been around for a couple of weeks now and I’m slowly learning how it works. Here’s a suggestion on how to make it easier for newbs like me to get started.

I’m first and foremost an audio producer. That’s why Audiojungle was my first stop. I really tried to read as much as I could so I wouldn’t make too many mistakes. Of course there were some but the reviewers helped me to get it right.

One of the things I was looking for was “Files We Do and Don’t Need” for Audiojungle. The only information I could find was this:

As I submitted my first file, it turned out I submitted a file that was on this list:

All was fine though, I had an good enough recording to still make it through. It even turned out to be my first sale so that was a lucky shot.

Now I’m looking at Photodune. I have some 700 photos taken on my journey around the globe. The first thing I was looking for was the ” “Files We Do and Don’t Need” for Photodune but I can’t seem to find it. The obvious place should be the first link I posted but it’s not there. Perhaps put links to all the marketplaces in that list to make it easier to find for beginners like me?

I agree with you on this one. Although I am very well aware of that list, I still have to google for it in order to find it when I need it.

Very well. My presence in the forum made me realize there’s a lot of useful stuff under the surface. Scottwillis posted an awesome list of “Ways to Promote your AudioJungle Music.” Read it with big interest and found out about the Audiojungle Music Player. I’ve been active for little over a month now and didn’t even know about it until now. I added it to my website but now I wanted to make it bigger. Sure I could easily find the post again in the forums but I wanted to see if I could find it anyway. After a few minutes of looking around I found it.

My first guess was to use the menu on the top to find the wiki. Tried Help, no wiki. Took me a few clicks to figure out that I had to scroll to the bottom and look at “Help and Support” to find the Wiki. A bit too tricky?

Once I found the Wiki it was easy to find the Player. Just click AudioJungle and there it is, second post.

My second endeavour was to try to find all the great applications that you can use. That was another thing I realized, not after looking at site itself, but after hanging out in the forum. Well since I found the wiki it didn’t take long until I found it. Community – The API – Some Awesome Encato Marketplace API Applications. Easy to find since I knew what I was looking for. But for a newbie that’s just randomly looking around in the wiki to see what there is? Since I work in the video game industry I know what an API is but it doesn’t make sense to someone that doesn’t know anything about code. Now I also found a great link: http://extras.envato.com/. This should be easier to find perhaps?

Tried it again from the start. Aha, up top: Help – API – Scroll to the bottom, big image (yes it’s clickable) – Extras.

One last suggestion, can we please have the ability to preview the post in the forum? It’s so easy to make a mistake, especially with HTLM without WYSIWYG .

Yes – that is good suggestion and many times when editing post it is easy to click post reply than Update
