Hello all,

Our company is looking to create 3D realtime multiuser environments for some of our clients.

I have found a product called dx studio, (not sure what it was coded in) but it requires a download.

Ideally if we could use flash to create these interactive enviroments it would get past the install issue for most people.

The question I have is; what is the best 3d flash engine to work with?

Has anyone got any experience in this area who could help point me in the right direction?

Thanks very much for any help..

Spencer

Thanks guys, much appreciated!

We are happy to pay for the license if the product is right.

I guess whatever engine we go for we will need to get a programmer to extend the 3d environment to cater for the user interface the end users and admin user experience – we just need the best and most soild engine to work with to start.

I was wondering if swift 3d is worth using, but i guess it would need quite a lot of extending through AS….

Does anyone have any other thoughts or recommendations on this subject?

Thanks again

Spencer

Yes but it’s much more faster than papervision3D, it could be a good choice for commercial projects.

Swift 3d is just a rendering engine that outputs to .swf, not really a 3d flash engine. I like papervision.

Is it now free for commercial projects. The license confuses me.

http://alternativaplatform.com/en/download8/

3.2. The Program shall be used with indication of the trade name “Alternativa3D”. The User has the right to switch off the indication of author’s rights of the authors of the Program (copyright) in the flash-module, using built-in functions.

4.2. The user has the right to use the program directly to create products and services for websites on the Internet network, including projects that are paid for by a third party and the user’s own projects, including commercial projects.

The user does not have the right to reproduce or extend the program itself, to place it in a network for third party access, or include it as part of a software bundle.

Does it mean that we can use it for commercial application but the library should not be distributed with project created.
