On Topic GPL question: Why does this text exist right next to the item’s purchase button?

“This item is licensed 100% GPL.”

as if to say “This item is special”. If authors want to go 100% GPL I have no problem with that, but just because I choose not to relinquishing the rights to my work, why should my item end up appearing inferior?

It is informational, in the same way an Extended license is displayed if a theme / author has opted-in to that license option.

Hi Japh and jremick,

can you confirm us if the percentage WooThemes get from sales is 33% or more? Some authors said in the beginning of the thread that they probably get more.

How can we set our items 100% GPL? I can’t find this option.

Once you have done that, you will then be able to select the 100% GPL licensing option when uploading / editing items.

There is a question about 100% GPL which raised multiple times and still unanswered: how do you deal with exclusive authors opting in for GPL ?

Exclusive authors are not allowed to sell/redistribute their own TF items elsewhere but for GPL themes, those rights are granted to anybody and this includes the author who released the GPL code to begin with.

Please provide an official answer to the above.

Hey pixelentity, we’re currently seeking an official response to this, which will most likely be posted on this thread soon.

Quite frankly, one would have expected such basic issues to be already evaluated by envato before pushing live the GPL license option.

Sorry for asking a probably stupid question, but when i go to a woo theme for example i can purchase a regular licence which grants me use on one website only. How is restricting the amount of uses compatible with 100% gpl?
