Hi Folks – we’ve just received confirmation from our PayPal account manager that the problem has been resolved and we’re also seeing the same from our end. See the x.com / paypal.com live status update site for more information on this resolution
Pete’s turning on PayPal transactions and so will be able to confirm (fingers crossed) that all is working as per normal shortly. We’ll also start investigating transactions that didn’t get confirmed shortly.
Further updates as they become available.
I got the confirmation from Envato but didn’t receive the money. Anyone else?
SWIFT (Wire Transfers) payments normally take a while – several days for the banks to process.
PayPal, Payoneer and MoneyBooker/Skrill should happen instantaneously. If you haven’t received one of these payments then there is a problem (typically incorrect details or a problem with you account). Finance team will be contacting you about it.
Hope that helps!
Yeah, was already wondering where the money was . Now we know, thanks for the heads up Vahid. 24 hours delay is something we can live with.
Remember this is only SWIFT payments (and even then some have been completed).
PayPal, MoneyBookers/Skrill and Payoneer were all processed – you should have received confirmation on these payments and if not then the finance team will be contacting you typically because of an incorrect payment details etc.
Well then why my paypal is steel on pending?
A small fraction of transactions fail each month – typically related to the wrong payment details and so forth. Never fear, the finance team follow up on these to sort them out based on the failure messages from the different payment gateways. Alternatively you can also contact support and they will assign your ticket to the finance team.
Either way – we will sort out your payment if its run into such a problem.
We had one case where someone had sadly requested a withdrawal in a country under civil war (I won’t mention when or which country) and so no payment gateways were available. I mean nothing at all. We started wondering if posting cash was a viable options. Fortunately more sensible heads explained that was far too risky and it turned out a family member in another country was able to help out with geting the funds across. Phew!
Sorry to be that guy but why tell us the day the funded are due? I presume that evanto have known about this for some time and could have allowed those affected time to make alternative arrangements.
Also any indication to which authors are getting a delayed payment?I appreciate the apology, but surely contacting each author as soon as evanto knew about the issue would have been more fitting.
Hi Mikedidthis – all good questions.
- Given the importance of this matter I posted here about 30min after we discovered the problem and after we had checked alternative solutions.
- The only people affected were those with SWIFT payments. PayPal, Payoneer and MoneyBookers don’t have the same deadlines and those payments were all cleared and confirmation notices sent out.
- The Swift payments will be delayed by about 15 hours or so. Given they can taken several days to clear we’re talking about an extra half a day. To be clear I’m not saying this is ok – just putting it into perspective as I think you might be thinking they are delayed a week.
Hope that helps!
please cut a head from some envato accountants and stick it to the gate. or more better, send it to some elite authors like a sign of penitence, or maybe use it to make some t-shirts for those pure souls what live among us.
Not the accountants!! Those poor lovely souls locked in their glass caged office. Free from moral wrong and without sin, just pure innocence incarnate! Save the childre.. uh, accountants?
In all seriousness, it was me who held up the train today and stuffed up and so it is was my apology to make.
And also in all fairness to our accountants – they thought to call our bank account manager to solve the problem (but no luck since the FX market system shuts down precisely at 4:30pm). The accountants also suggested that the root problem was that we didn’t provide ourselves with enough of a window to get all the transactions done now that the volume has increased. 4 years ago trying to get the whole thing done on the one day was ok – no longer. So we will be starting the swift payment window a little earlier to ensure we get it all done in a timely fashion. Just to be clear – the commission withdrawal work actually takes a lot longer than a day, but the payment window is rather slim.
