I would like to be able to report these kind of customers to Envato as well.
One option would be is to press a button to “cut all ties” with the customer by refunding him, and by doing so deny all support requests and remove any ratings given by that customer.There should be a way to actively handle these type of people.
+1 I had buyers on my 3 previous items, that just made a purchase and gave automatically 1 star.. I don’t know were they fellow authors trying to sabotage my sales or whatever, but it’s just frustrating
happened to my couple of times. Worse scenario for me is when someone buys your item just so they can rate it 1 star :s

I would continue my work as usual, just to have something to work on, otherwise i would get bored quite fast
My philosophy was always “easy come easy go” sort of thing if you get what i mean ….

Hi , yes this situation is really frustrating…
I hope that fellow buyers will know how fake those ratings are by looking at your ratings. For example , if they are many 5 stars and 4 stars , and only one or two 1 star ratings , it is obvious that something is not right. Anyway , most of the time this is not the case and quality items could hit by those fake ratings…
You can also put your item’s description page a note as I did below (yes friend, it happened to me too)..:

It seems un-fair competition is going on once again , and it seems without any reason we’re having a 1 star rating from a competitor author, once again.
This is not the right way to compete.
(Product name) is a result of almost (development time)’s hard work , tested hundreds of times (we mean it) , and not only that, it is tested manually with our own Android and iPhone devices, and works like a charm across mobile and desktop browsers, as stated.
Besides that , we’re almost always online , giving fast support whenever needed , and all of our items’ pages are full of wonderful comments from our fellow customers, stating the quality of our work. We love what we do, we do what we love.
Please respect our hard work, and compete with the items you produce, not by unfair tricks like this.

i was thinking to put some “comment” on my item to say thanks to that certain buyer, because i was really pissed off by that act. In the end i though “what the hell.. karma will get him”
and i think just like you said buyers will probably know what’s going on. Because at this point there are two 5 stars and one 1 star, you don’t have to be an einstein to figure it out…
Absolutely nothing you can do in this situation, although If you genuinely suspect major foul play (FinalDestiny had this recently) shoot an email to support and see if they can investigate the timings of purchases to rating etc. All in all, just try to focus on the people who love your stuff and try to forget (as hard as it is) about the game-players
Well i pretty know exact time it happened because I was online and it was the only sale for that item in maybe 1 hour, but i don’t know if I have rights to ask for envato to “show” me the buyer, Im not sure if I even want to know.. it’s just wrong way to do business.
