@envato Please seriously consider the yearly subscription idea that includes support. This will be good both for authors and buyers. Many authors including myself could finally invest more time to upgrade their portfolio. The second year subscription can be %50 off. This will be encourage us to re-code or re-design our very old items rather than fixing for new browser or make it compatible for new WordPress versions. This is a win-win solution for all of us. I think buyers will be happy also when they see a big upgrade of the items they purchased years ago. From an author perspective you can not invest serious time to your old products that doesn’t sell anymore. I hope it make sense.

Lets take a step back: why can’t we simply make the entire purchase valid for 12 months? After that, the user has to purchase again for their license to be active. I think that makes the things very simple while not changing the rules? We all, including Envato, can learn from this small change.

Am I crazy?

There must be only one package to purchase like: 1 Regular License + 1 Year Subscription for updates & support. With this way everyone will be happy.

Well thought improvement! I have a support team and know how it is important for buyers. I think most of the authors has no problems with this new rules.

I have some questions however; what if an author got sick and couldn’t work for 15 days? Will you add some exceptions for such cases? Will you block the item or author’s account when you got a complaint from a buyer?

As I know you can save a withdrawal request as “Automated Monthly All Earnings” for upcoming months.
You can, and that is indeed convenient. But I’m sure almost all authors can agree that the ability to withdraw whenever we’d like (rather than being limited to once per month) would be amazing.

Yes it’d be nice feature and dtbaker also has a point about the security.

Then someone could make money from an illegal upload (stolen / copied file) and withdraw it. The 15 days gives a little more time for these things to be reported and dealt with before the money is gone forever.

That is a good point. However, they could still speed up withdrawals a bit – if someone requests a withdrawal on Aug 1, they could get it a certain amount of days later, rather than one fixed time every month.

I’ve seen others talking about withdrawals twice per month, but I believed a fixed amount of days after a request is more justified.

As I know you can save a withdrawal request as “Automated Monthly All Earnings” for upcoming months.

Thoughts?
How many posts do you have? It should be more than 8.

I have 8 added, but changed the posts_per_page to 4 just to test if the pagination would show… I updated the permalink structure too.

Pagination works, but as I said in the last reply, goes to a 404…

Does it work, when you reduce the “Blog pages show at most” number to 8 or smaller number? (via Settings -> Reading Settings )

If so, you can add an action to “pre_get_posts” http://codex.wordpress.org/Plugin_API/Action_Reference/pre_get_posts

Something like;

function tax_pagination_fix($query) {
    $post_per_page = 8 ;
    $query->set('posts_per_page',  $post_per_page );
    return $query;
}
add_filter('pre_get_posts','tax_pagination_fix');

Hope it helps!
