3. The modern design, extra features and the new forum structure take time to get use to, and I’m sure it won’t be easy for many users to depart from the current forums we all love and use today – but after completing the learning curve things start to feel much more natural and right.
Spot on, AmigoProductions, I completely agree! There’s definitely a small learning curve with any change, but definitely for something like forums that we’ve all been using for years and years. I absolutely love the Markdown feature in Discourse and it’s now hard to use the current forums (right here) without Markdown!
My tip for everyone reading this who wants to become a master at formatting posts in Discourse (aside from using the included formatting tool panel in Discourse) is to become familiar with Markdown. It’s super easy and it will help with the transition immensely. Check this out, hope it helps!
Hello all! I noticed the page load issues a couple of days ago this week also, quite frustrating. Sorry to hear about all the frustration this has been causing and please accept our apologies for the site speed.
The only thing I’ve heard is that something new was deployed that affected page load times but it has since been rolled back. Page load time should now be back to normal however. If it’s not, please open a support ticket.
I’ll share this thread internally however to the right people in case there are still some page load issues so it can continued to be monitored. Thanks again for understanding and sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.
KingDog saidHey Travis, Can we know who won these T-Shirts ?
I may be willing to go with Pat just to make sure the tshirt arrives safely
For sure! I’ll get them verified with the Studio team as soon as possible and then we’ll announce the winners! Meanwhile, stickers were mailed out today to the fab five who found the secret elephants!
I have a suggestion for the new forums, probably doesn’t fit within any of the contests though
As you might have noticed some users like to bring back topics that are no longer relevant, like topics that have been opened years and years ago, i’ve seen a few in the last 2 days. Maybe it’s time to “auto-lock” threads that are too old or no longer active within a certain amount of days.Just my 2c.
Thanks, ThemeDepot, great feedback! I’ll pass that along to Travis and the team of forum moderators for their consideration.
Let’s work on site speed, reviewing standards, hire more reviewers and a hundred other actually important facets of Envato Market, instead of revamping something that works good enough for now and is not an integral part of each author’s daily income. Rich
Hi ThemeBreans! There are lots of people and lots of different teams within Envato that take care of those kind of things so we work in many different areas and on many projects simultaneously. You can take a look at everything we’re focused on in 2015 and what we’ve achieved so far in our 2015 roadmap.
This specific thread and project is solely focused on new community forums, please help us to keep this thread on topic. Any specific feedback you have on our forums is very welcome! Thanks so much for understanding.
