Hi! I searched the forum for an answer to this question and couldn’t find one — hopefully I’m not asking a question that has been asked a billion times.

Question: If I update an “old” file (something I’ve posted like 4-5 years ago) will it lose its place in search results? I have a file that has a couple hundred in sales but I would like to improve it significantly. I’m not altering the content, just making it better.

I would like to do that but not if I’ll lose my relevance for the file. Basically, I don’t want to lose the search results, sales records, etc. if I change the file.

I know that sounds a bit paranoid but I thought it wouldn’t hurt to ask. :)

Thanks in advance!

1.) No — That sounds like cutting out potential feedback/questions of consumers.

2.) As a buyer (yes) it lets me quickly find products I’m looking for … as a seller (no) my higher quality item is at lost in the shuffle.

Or accusations of copyright violation? Perhaps?

Anyways…

I do think it would be a nice feature to have on the forums, though I disagree that an author should be able to delete posts from other users. Even if it is in the discussion of his item. In my opinion, that would be to much censorship.

Users should only be able to delete their own posts.

One thing the reviewers could do for the authors (and some of them already do this) is paste our item description in rejection emails. I find it really useful.

As far as authors letting reviewers no about previous rejections … that isn’t really going to work, mainly for reason FLEX already stated.

Finally! After long time here we have The Winner of the ENVATO WALLPAPER competition.

Oh blast, I fell for it. I can’t stop tapping my foot now.

If you aren’t selling something on GraphicRiver… how is it unique to the marketplace?

http://graphicriver.net/page/rates

Anything that you aren’t selling on GraphicRiver can be sold elsewhere. It doesn’t matter if it was sold on GraphicRiver in the past. If you take an item off you can do whatever you want with it because its 100% your item again.

Well. To show your sorrow you could always throw another $100 in the pot.
