You may have noticed that we’ve had a few periods over the last few days where the marketplaces have been off the air.
A couple of things have caused the problems:
- The leap second that happened yesterday sent some of our servers haywire.
- Our primary database server is misbehaving. We’re making some changes, and scheduling some hardware upgrades to deal with this.
Sorry for the downtime. We’ll keep working on it, and we’ll keep you posted about progress.

I’ve testing signing in with FF 13 .0.1 on Mac, and it works just fine.
Are the folks having problems on Windows? Which version?
I’m not actually sure why we’ve got it set up that way! I’m chasing up some folks to see if I can find out the history.
I agree that strange domains like that shouldn’t be showing up in search results. We’ll look at changing this.
That does sound odd! Posts certainly shouldn’t be disappearing.
You don’t remember the subject or some text from one of the missing posts, do you? I’d like to go looking through our database and see if I can find them.
I’ve just done some performance testing, and everything looks fine. 259 KB/s for FTP upload from Australia to our servers in the U.S.
Our main link is getting fairly busy during peak times, so that may be part of the problem. We’ve got an upgrade in the works, which I’m hoping will happen in the next couple of weeks, although we haven’t got a fixed date for it yet.
A performance problem from a week ago has nothing to do with reviewing today. Locking the thread.
Sorry about the site performance being poor for the last hour or so.
There’s a technical issue somewhere in the network of our hosting provider. They have returned things to normal for the moment, but we’ll keep an eye on it.
I know this seems like a simple bug, but it turns out to be a really curly problem, and we’re still looking at it.
In the meantime, please do contact support when you find items like this and we can fix them up.
You may have noticed we just had an outage. We’re still digging into the cause.
Everything is back up now, but a few search-related things are disabled: forum search, browsing by tags on most marketplaces, and some other odds and ends.
We’ll continue to work on it.
