We’ve been having some trouble with our search server over the last hour which has been causing some of these problems. Everything should be back to normal now. Sorry for the hassle.
For the folks who were getting the “Whoops” page before that, can you give more details about what page you were trying to load at the time? We monitor these errors, and we’re not seeing unusual numbers of them, so it may be a bug specific to you in some way.
You may have noticed that we’ve had a few periods over the last few days where the marketplaces have been off the air.
A couple of things have caused the problems:
- The leap second that happened yesterday sent some of our servers haywire.
- Our primary database server is misbehaving. We’re making some changes, and scheduling some hardware upgrades to deal with this.
Sorry for the downtime. We’ll keep working on it, and we’ll keep you posted about progress.

I’ve just done some performance testing, and everything looks fine. 259 KB/s for FTP upload from Australia to our servers in the U.S.
Our main link is getting fairly busy during peak times, so that may be part of the problem. We’ve got an upgrade in the works, which I’m hoping will happen in the next couple of weeks, although we haven’t got a fixed date for it yet.
