Just adding my +1 for paid updates. Paid support is better than nothing, but 1 years upgrades to get the latest versions of our software does sound better.
I agree there should be an option for charging for major upgrades.
The software we sell here has an auto-update feature, it is very useful as it saves downloading the zip, uploading via FTP and then running the upgrade script. It also only downloads the changed files.
Once this new support API is out we are only going to offer the auto-update feature to customers who have support.
Long term it would be nice to charge for upgrades but I do believe this is a step in the right direction.
I just typed a nice reply but lost it
Basically all sounds great, just please ensure API gets updated to allow us to check support status.
Just a quick update.
We’ve just released a major upgrade to the Bluetrait platform. You can read all about it here: https://bluetrait.com/news/archive/2014/09/21/release-4/
Also Bluetrait is free for a single user
Ah I just assumed the username was required, I will try without.
I’ve noticed a few of my customers have changed their username which means that the API no longer validates their item purchase code (when using their old username).
Has anyone else noticed this?
I’ve been working on a tool to test the DNS settings of domain names.
DNS is used to convert names e.g example.com into IP addresses. It is used for a very wide range of things.
This tool I have been working on specifically tests all your DNS servers as well as MX records, zone transfers, auto discover records, a/aaaa records, SOA and more.
I am aware of a few other online tools that do similar things, but there were some specific tests that they didn’t do that I needed (auto discover and zone transfers are a couple)
Anyway I would love some feedback, I’m not sure if it will be useful for you guys so I’m not sure if it is something that I would release as an app.http://auditdns.net
Aw, I was hoping for some grep awesomeness!
Reminds me that one of my apps is probably using V1 of the Facebook SDK. I wonder how easy it is to swap it out.
Yes but how do they know if a plugin uses the Facebook SDK at all?
