Yes I believe that Envato need to find a solution to this problem. There is nothing stopping someone doing this over and over again and getting free software.
Yay one of my apps has hit 200 sales
The improvements sound like a great start. Any ETA for these changes?
You may want to look at a ticketing system. You can check out my profile for some examples that may suit you.
I wish it didn’t have to be for WordPress, Drupal or Joomla
Planning on writing a plugin for my own app at some stage, this would make me do it quicker, but yeah no plans to touch any of the listed CMS systems.
I don’t agree at all. I don’t even know what you are trying to say.
I have a support forum + ticket system + app registration. It works very well.
The way I get people to use it is simple. I have over 50% of my buyers registered on the portal.
How? I give away a couple of free plugins and access to beta versions via the support portal.
You must also be registered to get automatic updates within the application.
People like free stuff
Yes there is no problem doing this.
I sell a few plugins for one of my items.
For the plugin I ensure that the text at the very top is clear that it requires another purchase to work.
So far I haven’t had anyone purchase a plugin and then ask why it doesn’t work.
You can check my profile to see some examples.
It is an interesting idea, but I suspect most authors will be too busy to help you.
I often release beta version of my applications for my registered clients (I have a secured portal setup for this) and I have some great users who always test the betas for me.
There are some great cheap codecanyon items (I write one myself). I would check these out as they are often much cheaper than hosted solutions.
Obviously mine is the best
